When we were planning our move to the UK, we spent close to a year going round and round in circles trying to decide where to settle by using the search functionality on sites such as Zoopla and Rightmove, based on our budget and accommodation requirements. Not easy when you are trying to get a palace for peanuts. We had a long list of requirements including a study, 4 bedrooms, a garage and being pet friendly and it was discouraging to find two dozen properties in outer-nowhere to suit our budget only to see none allowed pets.

Enter Samantha and Rozanna. They knew our requirements and weren’t daunted. In two weeks, they found our rental property in an area we hadn’t even considered; and we love it. They made sure the area was up-to-scratch by doing a drive-by, checking traffic and looking for any problem areas nearby.

Aside from finding our property for us - they did dozens of little things we hadn’t considered - so that when we arrived for our period of self-isolation in December 2020, we had a pantry full of groceries, broadband, UK sim cards for the whole family, and we were linked up to utilities. We even had a reusable thingamajig on a keyring to replicate a Pound coin to get a supermarket trolley.

Moving countries is not for the faint-hearted, but at least having Rozanna and Samantha to assist will mean you don’t need to have a heart attack doing it all yourself.”

Because we had spent a number of years living in the UK 20 years ago, we assumed we were mostly comfortable with knowing how the system worked, but that was before the responsibility of ‘proper’ adulthood and of raising children! With the added pressures of finding a means to have a family-oriented soft landing on our arrival, we decided to put our naivety aside and contact the Juniper Shores ladies on the back of a recommendation from friends, who were a few weeks ahead of us in the emigration process.

Dealing with the lists and lists of administrative tick boxes on the South African side in preparation for the big move, meant that there was a huge void in our planning for what happened when we arrived, most notably finding a decent suburb to live in that had a number of good schooling options in the direct vicinity. Because residential location and schooling are so completely intertwined, the enormity of the task became a real headache for us…until we found Juniper Shores!

Our fears and anxieties started diminishing rapidly from the very first email response we received from Samantha and Rozanna, such was their infectious enthusiasm, absolute professionalism and most importantly, their warmth and authentic empathy. We were able to completely resign the process to them and the trust that we placed in them was well-founded. No question was deemed ‘too stupid’, no request considered ‘too difficult’- we were met with complete honesty and sincerity along every step of the way.

Their patience, continued enthusiasm, and passion, even in the face of our own doubts, fears, regrets and indecisions allowed us to comfortably transition from the home that we knew and loved, to the new place that we are now calling home.

We loved the connectedness that they allowed, the friendliness they exhibited and most importantly the anxieties they embraced as their own in order to alleviate our fears. They shared our tears, enthused over our small victories and were such a rock of support along every single step of the way. We especially appreciated their constant availability, their incredibly comprehensive research around the schools and the continuous South African connectedness and humour; without these I believe we would likely have given up completely or still been busy trying to figure this stuff out!

Not only would we highly recommend the services that the ladies offer, we think it should become mandatory so that people making this massive decision in their lives are able to appreciate the talent, commitment and gentle South African touch that Juniper Shores brings!

The UK is fortunate to gain the attributes and skills that Samantha and Rozanna bring to the services industry and we can’t think of a more perfect way to start this new chapter in our lives.

Can't recommend Juniper Shores enough! Sam and Roz have been unbelievable, they guided and supported us through this immense task every step of the way. From helping with a timeline at the beginning, getting quotes and recommending service providers, to helping view properties, setting up the home so it was ready for us to move in and following up on various issues along the way. I don’t know where to begin, I honestly do not know how we would have managed to get a place to live and find a nursery for our son if it wasn’t for these angel ladies. Not to mention how they kept us calm, supported us when we needed it and just all round made one of the scariest and most stressful things to do in life a little more bearable. Roz and Sam genuinely care about their clients. I remember after a viewing they did for us they were just so honest, and Roz’s words still ring in my mind - “Laura I cannot let Mateo live here!”. They take every eventuality into consideration and listen to you but also advise realistically. They also keep you up to date constantly, respond to messages almost same day if not within 24 hours as well as take the time when they are with you and never make you feel rushed like they need to get into the next person or whatever is it they have going. They greeted us when we landed in the UK and it felt like family meeting us. I would give them a million stars out of ten!!

I have recommended them to everyone I know who is coming here and will definitely use them in the future should I ever need any of their services.

We thought we could have done our relocation on our own having lived in the UK before, but we are so thankful that we did not.  We were incredibly fortunate to have been recommended Juniper Shores in the early stages of our relocation decision and we could not have been more thankful to have had this outstanding company helping us with the big move. 

Our biggest obstacle was finding a pet friendly rental which proved almost impossible from outside the UK.  After agreeing to a relocation package with Juniper Shores, the company found us a pet friendly and beautiful home within 5 days.  The incredible ladies behind the company, Samantha, and Rozanna, went above and beyond with everything that they did for us.  From assisting us with the rental, to setting up shopping lists, broadband etc. and guiding us every step of the way.  

We would never have settled so quickly into our new area and country if it had not been for Samantha and Rozanna’s efficient service, outstanding organisation, and extra thought that went into our move.  We cannot recommend Juniper Shores highly enough.

We decided to move overseas for my husbands' business. And had chosen to organise the booking of a property rental ourselves. We soon realised the challenge of trying to do this remotely from SA was nearly impossible. And the entire process became very frustrating.

Thankfully a friend put us in contact with Samantha and Rozanna from Juniper Shores. We had an introductory video call with them and could see they understood the nightmare we were going through. They shared their passion for guiding fellow migrators through the maze of settling into a new country, and we were sold.

On the appointment of their services, Samantha and Rozanna tackled our challenge of finding a UK rental with passion and vigour. We were kept up to date with progress and suggestions via supportive and informative WhatsApp messages, calls and videos. We really felt they were in our corner. 

After looking at a few areas, we finally settled on a rental. Samantha and Rozanna helped us through all the paperwork and guided our conversations with rental agents in the UK. This can be a tricky process, but the Juniper Shores ladies knew how to approach it.

After a few weeks, we arrived in the UK to a home that was kitted out with food for our initial self-isolation stay, a mandatory process during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, the ladies also organised sim cards for our phones and a Wi-Fi connection to keep in touch with loved ones locally and abroad. They also arranged things like inflatable mattresses, new linen, towels, and detergents to keep our home clean and tidy.

In closing, Juniper Shores have remained in contact since we have settled into our new home and were a guiding light in an otherwise daunting process. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We highly recommend them. :)

Samantha and Rozanna were the calm amid our storm and a lighthouse guiding us to new shores.

Their vibrant personalities, positivity, empathy and exceptional organisational and project management skills made our move from South Africa to the UK in a mere 3 months feel structured, calm and manageable.

Everything they assisted us with, from their to-do lists, to finding a home and school, to shopping and setting up facilities, was invaluable in saving time as well as reducing pressure and anxiety.

We just want to say a big THANK-YOU to the ladies at Juniper Shores for reducing the stress of our massive move during COVID-19. Thanks to Samantha and Rozanna we arrived in the UK on the 26th of September 2020, a luxury minibus arranged by them was waiting for our arrival. Along with our 2 children and 10 bags we made our way to our lovely rental which they had hunted down for us. These ladies had looked at various rentals and sent us videos, always keeping us informed. All our furniture, appliances, and day to day goods we chose were purchased and waiting for us when we arrived, down to the groceries. They had narrowed down the search for schools and my daughter was able to start school as soon as our quarantine was complete. They had set up our Wi-Fi and had SIM cards for our mobile phones for us. These ladies are amazing, and I recommend them to anyone who is contemplating this life changing move.

I would consider myself a well organised person who is able to research things and put plans together quite effectively. However, one doesn’t realise that when moving to a new country that there are just so many unknown elements and factors and decisions. It is easy to become overwhelmed with social media groups who advise and comment on predicaments or get lost in comparison websites and be easily swayed by random strangers’ opinions. The moment we signed up with Juniper Shores - the process just became so much calmer, easier, and pleasant. All my insecurities and confusions were addressed with confidence, knowledge and experience of the ladies and I could breathe again knowing I had a team of experts guiding our process. We needed help finding a rental property that would accommodate our four pets which is surprisingly not an easy thing to do. We also were super picky about where we wanted to live, our restricted budget and how close we wanted to be to good schools. We had spent weeks if not months on Rightmove and Zoopla with absolutely no joy, but Rozanna and Samantha managed to find us an absolutely perfect place in a matter of two weeks. They did our site visit for us and negotiated our occupancy. From there it was a continuous stream of support and information to get our kids into school, find a local vet, get our utilities set up and even taking delivery of our food shopping and basics for our arrival. Samantha and Rozanna are not only experts in their field, highly organised and a fountain of knowledge - they are kind, calm, supportive and really encouraging and positive. While I probably could have bumbled along on my own - I would have been a wreck and definitely got things wrong. With Juniper Shores, I felt calm, confident, and excited about the move as opposed to frazzled. This in itself is worth its weight in gold. For anyone embarking on this journey - it is stressful enough just making the decision to move country - start off on the right foot by making it a calm and joyous move by getting the expert guidance and support from Juniper Shores. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. You will absolutely reap the benefit from day one.

Alistair received a job offer in London and that fast-tracked our application for the kids and I to get our ancestral visa as dependents of Alistair's ancestral visa. This was done so quickly within a month and a half. With no forethought of how we would relocate or where we would settle! Alistair left to get things set up for us in March of 2020, we were due to join him three weeks later but alas the dreaded Corona struck, and we were placed into a hard lockdown in South Africa. Alistair had nowhere to stay and thankfully my cousin and her family graciously opened their home to him. For two horrific months, Alistair could do nothing with regards to setting up a home for us as he found himself in a hard lockdown in England too. Once lockdown restrictions were lifted in England, he began to try to set up property viewings, what a nightmare that turned out to be. I felt so helpless being locked in South Africa and Alistair was getting nowhere with trying to set up viewings, never mind about an actual rental agreement. I had to do something to help and so I went on a search to find assistance and how blessed I was to come across the Juniper shores website! We reached out to Rozanna and Samantha of Juniper shores and what a game-changer they were for our family! They calmed our frayed nerves and took total control; within a matter of days they had set up several properties for Alistair to go and view. Once they had helped us secure the perfect property, they then found several great schools for our children within our feeder area. Once we narrowed the schools down, they set up zoom calls with the deputy heads of the schools and then helped us get all three of our children registered in our preferred schools. We felt so at ease with Rozanna and Samantha and they truly made our relocation so much smoother. Our family were finally reunited in August of 2020 and thanks to these two amazing ladies we arrived to a beautiful home in our lovely village of Bromham, with amazing schools waiting to welcome our children. We highly recommend Juniper shores as they are not only incredibly professional but such kind and genuine people too and you can with absolute confidence place all your trust in these amazing relocation agents to get things done quickly and in the correct manner.
