"Pandemic, gazumping, hotel quarantine – this is a strange new world we are living in and we decided to emigrate (all in 6 months) in the middle of the storm!
As a family, we were dealing with children who did not want to leave the only place they had known, and so desperately love, to move to a foreign and unknown country with strange school terms and different age groups – the list is endless!
After having been ‘Gazumped’ on four different houses a family member suggested we look at a relocation service – that is how we found Juniper Shores.
From my very first conversation with Samantha, I was put at total ease. She took the panic level from hero to zero within a matter of minutes. We followed up with a Zoom call with Samantha and Rozanna and their down-to-earth, calming personalities brought peace and serenity back into my life. Their parting words on the first call were “We’ve got this!”
Boy-oh-boy were they right! We started with house hunting, and they found us a house in record time, close to schools, a lovely area and on the video tour they talked us through every nook and cranny. When it came to the financial checks, they were with us every step of the way, liaising with the rental agency and making sure everything was on track and that contracts could be signed.
When we arrived, we needed to go into hotel quarantine and Juniper Shores sent us a gift pack with goodies needed for survival but also useful information so that I could start the arduous process of going through checklists.
The ladies arranged beds and mattresses for my daughters’ rooms, a rental car, sim cards for our phones – the list is endless, and nothing is too much trouble.
When it was time for the big move – they walked through the house with me doing the dreaded inventory, took many, probably too many, phone calls from a crying paranoid South African who was completely over-whelmed with all that had changed in my life and once again restored calm in my new world and brought a sense of order and structure to an otherwise chaotic life.
Samantha and Rozanna, from the bottom of hearts we cannot say ‘Thank you’ enough for holding our hands and walking this very emotional road with the grace and courage that you exude – and showing us that yes, this life is different, but it’s the same.
I would recommend Juniper Shores to everyone, and anyone looking to relocate. Their wealth of knowledge and database of contacts is vast, and nothing is too much trouble for them to assist with. They are still, 6 months later just a phone call away, for me, that personal connection is what makes them stand-out from other companies who send the final invoice and then you never speak to them again.
