"We made the very rapid decision to relocate from Durban to the UK at the end of July 2021. We applied for my husband’s spousal visa but realised it would take time to come through and he owned his own business so needed a few months to tie things up. In the hope that our 3 daughters (aged 10, 12 and 14 at the time) would be able to start school in the UK after the first half-term at the beginning of November, we quickly realised that the girls and I would initially be moving to the UK on our own in the middle of October.
I had my eye on a particular area and state school where one of my best school friends is based. When I realised that even if the school had spaces for the girls, we would still require both a rental and utility bill before the school would allow our daughters to start there, the panic set in. With Covid restrictions and hotel quarantine still in place, there was no way we could afford the money and time to go to the UK and have a look/secure a rental before actually emigrating.
In the middle of August, a person who had moved a year earlier, also in a very short space of time, recommended Rozanna and Samantha. From deciding to use them, it was full steam ahead. They were endlessly patient with WhatsApp’s and emails about which appliances and furniture to take and leave behind, even assisting us by asking for furniture measurements (to see if things would fit through regular UK doors), rental prices we should expect for the area we were after, landlords’ criteria when selecting tenants etc.
They have many contacts and, in the end, secured us a lovely home, which we saw via a video they sent after their first viewing, within walking distance of our 2 older daughters’ school and a 5-minute drive from my youngest daughter’s school. They also assisted with school applications and helped us to be set up with Wi-Fi etc almost immediately after moving into our property. We received UK Sim cards on arrival in the UK and were also met by a transfer at Heathrow airport to take us to our first destination. We also received a key ring which you can use instead of a pound to unlock trollies at the supermarket – very useful! My husband only arrived on the 11th of December.
It was amazing to have the support of Rozanna and Samantha during our move and in the few weeks after we arrived. I would definitely recommend them!"
